Tom,
Thank you for the copy of Romans. I look forward to the read. It may take me awhile. I am finishing my own book, about a Holocaust survivor, and I will be in the Philippines from Oct 13-Nov 1 working with our pastors and others there at two conferences.

Because you are NOT all those versions of Tom Holland is precisely why I have found it so difficult to find you. My over the road neighbour (Robyn Kerr) is a Baptist pastor. She has staying with her for two weeks a Baptist pastor who is attached to on of the UK Rugby teams involved in the World Cup.

Wondering on the status of your new commentary on Romans. I read the sample you provided and enjoyed it very much. As one who already sees and reads Paul through a Hebraic and corporate lens, it presented much of what I already understood as well as made me think about some other ideas. I really enjoyed your other book Contours too. Not sure why Christendom can't see how Paul thinks and writes via corporate themes.

On a side note, wonder if you have ever considered Paul's entire understanding of the Resurrection as a corporate one too? In particular Israel's resurrection. Thus 1 Cor 15 is about the corporate "body" of Israel being raised (notice Paul uses present passives all through the text) then in the first century. His reference to "the dead" throughout 1 Cor 15 is a reference to OC Israel (corporate body), thus Paul's distinction between "the dead" and those that "sleep".

Anyway, getting off topic. If you wish to investigate this understanding see Max King's "The Parousia of Chirst".

Back on topic, is your new book coming out soon? You suggest by Easter 2011. Really looking forward to it.

This is good to know sir. I heard I should look into your writings while reading Rob Bel
This is what I learned the hard way. I was inspired to read your writings by Hearing of the new exodus theme in Jesus Wants to save Christians. After reading Rubicon and beginning to read The Forge of Christendom I was told this was not the author referred to in JWSC.
Though I enjoyed these books thoroughly I was thankful to finally read the theologian Tom Holland's book.

How well it will transfer? It can't hurt to have Rob Bell citing it as his major influence in his latest book.
